OverView:
This full-time position is located in our General Laboratory at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center laboratory MT(ASCP or equivalent) certification required
Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for performing all essential functions of Testing Level IV as defined by the department. In addition, this position is responsible for a high level of technical knowledge and application of that knowledge to department testing, clinical relevance, and complex problem solving skills. This position serves as a department resource, and is responsible for assisting with department compliance with all pertinent laboratory accrediting agency and regulatory requirements (e.g., CLIA '88, JCAHO, CAP, OSHA). All employees are responsible for (1) supporting the Company's goals and mission, (2) for following all Company policies and procedures, (3) for providing quality customer service, and (4) for following safety standards in performing all aspects of the functions below, reporting/removing unsafe equipment and attending safety education sessions.
Qualifications:
MT (United States certification - ASCP or equivalent) certification, a Bachelor's degree in a chemical or biological science preferred OR a student in a recognized MT program that has completed their clinical rotation in the area of hire and will receive MT (ASCP or equivalent) certification within 1 year completion of the program, OR MT certification from another country and will receive United States certification (ASCP or equivalent) within one year of hire OR specialty certification in department's area, a Bachelor's degree in a chemical or biological science preferred OR a Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science and will receive MT (ASCP or equivalent) certification within 1 year completion of the program OR one year prior on-site experience as Testing Level IV with exceptional skills, highly developed interpersonal skills, a minimum Overall Performance Rating of a 3 and have no ratings below a 3 in any area of their most recent performance review, and passing of on-site competency/criteria as defined by the department. Individuals with specialty certification may only work in the discipline of their specialty. Demonstrates behaviors consistent with those identified as Company core behaviors. Demonstrates excellent problems solving skills, and high level of self-motivation.
